Kayode Kasum, Biodun Stephen dominate Netflix, Prime Video
NIGERIA’S talented filmmakers Kayode Kasum and Biodun Stephen are dominating streaming platforms Netflix and Prime Video with their sterling productions, ‘Obara’M’ and ‘Sista.’
The two films are currently trending on Netflix and Prime Video with many subscribers watching them from different parts of the world.
While Stephen’s ‘Sista’ leads the pack of Nollywood films on Prime Video, Kasum’s ‘Obara’M’ is trending on Netflix.
The two films, starred popular Nollywood stars that include Nancy Isime and Kehinde Bankole but has Deyemi Okanlawon featuring in both films.
Interestingly, in both films, Okanlawon’s character saw him abandoning his parental duty as a father.
While he ran away from his responsibilities as a young father in ‘Sista,’ he was unaware of his child in ‘Obara’M’ until she was 10.
Obara’M’ was released in 2022 and tells the story of Oluchi, an up and coming musician, who is forced to confront her true self and her past mistakes after her estranged father’s death. She reconnects with her daughter who she abandoned at a young age through their love for music. However, the echoes from the past, greed and bad decisions, springs from every corner, threatening to bring them down.
Sista,’ on the other end, tells the story of a struggling single mother, who faces her worst nightmare when the father of her children comes into their lives and completely steals their attention all for himself.
